Excursion Description
Orange Bay in Hurghada is a sea trip with relaxing on an island beach, swimming and stops at coral reefs. Light sand, turquoise water, wooden walkways and beach photo spots let you combine getting to know the Red Sea with a calm rest on the shore.
You can choose a program without diving or an option with one trial scuba dive. After the hotel transfer, boarding the yacht, heading out to sea and stops at reefs for snorkeling await you, and for participants of the corresponding package — diving. At Orange Bay about 1.5–2 hours are allotted for swimming, walks and photos. Lunch and drinks are served on the yacht.
Two program options
- Without diving: adult — $22, child — $11.
- With diving — 1 dive: adult — $25, child — $13.
When booking, state the chosen option and the children's ages. A children's rate for the excursion does not in itself mean admission to diving: a child's ability to take part in diving must be confirmed separately.

What's Included
- Hotel transfer at around 08:30. We give the exact time after booking; the drive to the port takes 10-40 minutes depending on the hotel location.
- Boarding the yacht and heading out to sea at around 09:30-10:00, after receiving permission from the tourist police.
- Two stops at reefs of about one hour each for snorkeling and diving according to the chosen program. The duration and order are determined by the guide on the spot.
- Landing at Orange Bay: relaxing on the beach and swimming from the shore for about 1.5–2 hours.
- Lunch and drinks on the yacht: salads, rice, pasta, potatoes, nuggets, fish or meat sausages; cola, Pepsi, water, tea and coffee.
- Return to the hotel at around 17:00. The time may change slightly.
What's Included in the Price
- Lunch and drinks on the yacht.
- Snorkeling equipment; diving equipment — when choosing the program with a dive.
- A Russian-speaking escort.
- Transport service around Hurghada.
- Children under 5 years inclusive — free.
Extra charge for remote areas: El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh and Makadi — +$10 round trip; Soma Bay and Safaga — +$20 round trip.
The extra charge is given per booking of up to 6 people, for the trip both ways. The transfer may be shared.
Diving: duration and conditions
- The diving package includes one trial dive of up to 15 minutes per person, including preparation. Depth — up to 7 meters.
- Sometimes the dive is organized from a neighboring yacht: the transfer takes place after mooring at sea by the reefs.
- If a participant refuses diving on the spot, the price of the chosen program stays the same.
- Diving may be canceled because of a large number of people wanting it or too few participants in the group on the day of the trip. In that case you need to request a refund for diving on the spot and write to our booking department.
- To arrange the tourist police permit for diving you must send in advance photos of the passports of all diving participants.
The dive takes place at the reefs on the way to the island and complements the beach excursion. If diving is the main goal of your trip, consider the separate program "All-day diving" — two dives of up to 15 minutes each. The conditions and the possibility of holding it are confirmed at booking.
Additional Information
- Recommended days for a trip with a mainly Russian-speaking group — Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. On other days the makeup of the group may differ.
- Sometimes instead of two snorkeling stops, one long stop is held — about 1.5–2 hours. This depends on the weather and the organization of the program.
- Before going up to the upper deck you need to dry yourself off with a towel. Do not go up wet, so you do not slip on the stairs.
- Approximate capacity of the yachts — 20–40 people. The permitted number of passengers is limited by the tourist police permit.
Prefer a separate boat trip with your own group? Consider a private glass-bottom boat trip for $90. This is an independent program, not a private version of the Orange Bay excursion.
What to bring
- A towel, swimsuit and a hat.
- Sunscreen and sunglasses.
- Phone or camera, power bank.
- If you wish, your own mask and snorkel for snorkeling.
- In the cool season, a light windbreaker.

Why is the price lower than at the hotel?
Hotel excursions are often sold through several middlemen, which raises the price. We work directly with local organizers and confirm the program, transfer, and terms in advance. That's why the price is lower, while the excursion itself stays the same: you're picked up, taken through the program, and brought back.
What transport is used?
It depends on the excursion and group size. It could be a car, minivan, minibus, large bus, or yacht. Air-conditioned transport is usually used for longer trips. We confirm the exact departure time and transfer format after booking.
When and how do I pay for the excursion?
Most excursions are paid on the spot: on the bus, when boarding the yacht, or at the start of the program. Prepayment usually isn't required. Exceptions apply to private trips, flights, and programs that involve tickets bought in advance or paperwork.
Are the organizers licensed?
Excursions are run by local organizers who are permitted to work with tourists. In Egypt, permits are required for transport, yachts and some routes. So you may sometimes be asked for hotel details, a voucher or a photo of your passport — this is needed to arrange the trip, not just "for show".
Is there insurance during the excursion?
Your travel insurance usually applies throughout Egypt. If you're on an organized excursion, the local organizer is responsible for transport and the program. Before the trip, it's best to check your insurance terms, especially if you're planning diving, quad biking, or other active programs.
What should I do if I forgot something after the excursion?
Message me right away with what you lost and where it might have been left: on the bus, the yacht, or at the hotel. I'll contact the organizer. If the item is found, we can usually arrange to return it. But it's best to check your belongings before leaving the transport, since retrieving lost items afterward can be difficult.
Do I need to wait for the excursion or adjust my schedule?
After booking, I'll send you the approximate departure time. Sometimes the transfer may arrive a bit earlier or later, since tourists are picked up from different hotels. If the time changes significantly, I'll let you know in advance.
Where can I find a photographer after the excursion?
Photographers at excursions usually work independently from the organizers. If you'd like to buy photos or video, it's best to get the photographer's contact and agree on the price before paying. If you don't need photos, you can simply decline.
