Excursion Description
Magawish Island with Diving is a sea excursion from Hurghada that combines a yacht ride, relaxing on an island beach and getting to know the coral reefs. You can choose an option without diving or a program with one trial dive.
After the hotel transfer, the yacht heads to the reefs for snorkeling. Then the landing on Magawish awaits you, with approximately 1.5 hours for relaxing and swimming from the shore. Lunch and drinks are served on board, and in the evening tourists are taken back to their hotels.
The program "Magawish Island with diving" suits those who want to add a trial scuba dive to a beach day. Before entering the water the instructor gives a briefing and accompanies the participant during the dive.
Magawish Island with and without diving: prices
- Without diving: adult — $22, child — $11.
- With diving — 1 dive: adult — $25, child — $13.
When booking, state the chosen option and the children's ages. A children's rate for the excursion does not in itself mean admission to diving: a child's ability to take part in diving must be confirmed separately.

- Boarding the yacht and heading out to sea at around 10:00, after receiving permission from the tourist police.
- Two stops at reefs of about one hour each for snorkeling and diving according to the chosen program. The duration and order are determined by the guide on the spot.
- Landing on Magawish Island: relaxing on the beach and swimming from the shore for about 1.5 hours.
- Lunch and drinks on the yacht.

What's Included in the Price
- Lunch and drinks on the yacht.
- Snorkeling equipment; diving equipment — when choosing the program with a dive.
- A Russian-speaking escort.
- Transport service around Hurghada.
- Children under 5 years inclusive — free.
Extra charge for remote areas: El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh and Makadi — +$10 round trip; Soma Bay and Safaga — +$20 round trip.
The extra charge is given per booking of up to 6 people, for the trip both ways. The transfer may be shared.
Magawish Island with diving: diving conditions
- The diving package includes one trial dive of up to 15 minutes per person, including preparation. Depth — up to 7 meters.
- Sometimes the dive is organized from a neighboring yacht: the transfer takes place after mooring at sea by the reefs.
- If a participant refuses diving on the spot, the price of the chosen program stays the same.
- Diving may be canceled because of a large number of people wanting it or too few participants in the group on the day of the trip. In that case you need to request a refund for diving on the spot and write to our booking department.
The dive takes place at the reefs on the way to the island and complements the beach excursion. If diving is the main goal of your trip, consider the separate program "All-day diving" — two dives of up to 15 minutes each. The conditions and the possibility of holding it are confirmed at booking.
Additional Information
- The excursion runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Sometimes instead of two snorkeling stops, one long stop is held — about 1.5–2 hours. This depends on the weather and the organization of the program.
- Before going up to the upper deck you need to dry yourself off with a towel. Do not go up wet, so you do not slip on the stairs.
Prefer a separate boat trip with your own group? Consider a private glass-bottom boat trip for $90. This is an independent program, not a private version of the Magawish excursion.
What to bring
- A photo of your passport on your phone.
- A towel, swimsuit and a hat.
- Sunscreen and sunglasses.
- Water, a phone or camera, a power bank.
- If you wish, your own mask and snorkel for snorkeling.
- In the cool season, a light windbreaker.

Why is the price lower than at the hotel?
Hotel excursions are often sold through several middlemen, which raises the price. We work directly with local organizers and confirm the program, transfer, and terms in advance. That's why the price is lower, while the excursion itself stays the same: you're picked up, taken through the program, and brought back.
What transport is used?
It depends on the excursion and group size. It could be a car, minivan, minibus, large bus, or yacht. Air-conditioned transport is usually used for longer trips. We confirm the exact departure time and transfer format after booking.
When and how do I pay for the excursion?
Most excursions are paid on the spot: on the bus, when boarding the yacht, or at the start of the program. Prepayment usually isn't required. Exceptions apply to private trips, flights, and programs that involve tickets bought in advance or paperwork.
Are the organizers licensed?
Excursions are run by local organizers who are permitted to work with tourists. In Egypt, permits are required for transport, yachts and some routes. So you may sometimes be asked for hotel details, a voucher or a photo of your passport — this is needed to arrange the trip, not just "for show".
Is there insurance during the excursion?
Your travel insurance usually applies throughout Egypt. If you're on an organized excursion, the local organizer is responsible for transport and the program. Before the trip, it's best to check your insurance terms, especially if you're planning diving, quad biking, or other active programs.
What should I do if I forgot something after the excursion?
Message me right away with what you lost and where it might have been left: on the bus, the yacht, or at the hotel. I'll contact the organizer. If the item is found, we can usually arrange to return it. But it's best to check your belongings before leaving the transport, since retrieving lost items afterward can be difficult.
Do I need to wait for the excursion or adjust my schedule?
After booking, I'll send you the approximate departure time. Sometimes the transfer may arrive a bit earlier or later, since tourists are picked up from different hotels. If the time changes significantly, I'll let you know in advance.
Where can I find a photographer after the excursion?
Photographers at excursions usually work independently from the organizers. If you'd like to buy photos or video, it's best to get the photographer's contact and agree on the price before paying. If you don't need photos, you can simply decline.
