Excursion Description

Super El Gouna from Hurghada — a packed full-day sea excursion: a canal cruise, a yacht trip, lunch, a submarine, reef snorkeling, and Dolphin Bay. This format is convenient for those who want to see El Gouna from Hurghada and combine a beautiful resort with a sea program.

El Gouna is often called the Egyptian Venice. The resort is built on islands and canals about 25 kilometers north of Hurghada. It has sand-colored facades, bridges, yachts, tidy promenades, and a completely different atmosphere than central Hurghada.

This excursion suits those who want to see beautiful El Gouna in one day, spend time at sea, and not have to choose between a walk, the submarine, and snorkeling — it's all combined in one program.

What Awaits You

First you'll head to the El Gouna area and see the resort from its canals. A short boat ride passes among bridges, villas, hotels, and yacht marinas — the most recognizable part of the town.

After the walk, the program continues on a yacht. On board there are usually places to relax, lunch, cool drinks, and snorkeling equipment. The route includes a stop at a coral reef and a visit to an area where dolphins are often spotted.

Excursion program

  • Hotel transfer at approximately 08:00 — the exact time is confirmed after booking.
  • The drive to the port takes about 20-60 minutes, depending on the hotel's area.
  • A boat ride along El Gouna's water canals, about 15 minutes.
  • A short walk around the area's waterfront — about 30-40 minutes.
  • Free time at a bar: drinks or ice cream are paid separately, usually $2-4.
  • Boarding the yacht and a buffet lunch.
  • A ride on a submarine/semi-submersible boat along the reefs.
  • A stop in open water for swimming with a mask and fins.
  • A trip through the dolphin bay area — there's a good chance of spotting dolphins.

El Gouna and the canals

El Gouna is built as a resort town on islands. Most areas are connected by bridges, with canals of seawater running between them. This gives the town a very tidy, photogenic look.

The architecture has plenty of Mediterranean motifs with an oriental feel: light facades, arches, sandy-mustard tones, yachts, and palm trees. That's why this trip is often chosen not just for the sea, but also for beautiful photos.

You can learn more about the resort itself on the official El Gouna. And if you'd like an evening format instead of a sea trip, check out the separate El Gouna at Sunset.

Submarine and snorkeling

The submarine is a convenient way to see the underwater world of the Red Sea without diving. Through panoramic windows you can see corals, fish, and marine plant life.

After that, there's usually a stop at a reef for snorkeling. If you have your own mask and snorkel, it's best to bring them. Equipment is also provided on the yacht, but your own is always more comfortable.

Additional Information

Yachts are usually designed for about 20-40 guests. There's enough room to relax on board, but the exact capacity depends on the specific yacht and tourist police rules.

The order of the program may vary slightly depending on weather, sea conditions, and the organizers' decisions. Dolphins are wild animals, so an encounter is likely but not 100% guaranteed.

If you need a separate car to the pier or a private trip, you can book a transfer in Hurghada.
