This section includes trips to Cairo visiting the classic Egyptian Museum or the New Grand Egyptian Museum, the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx, an excursion to ancient Petra in Jordan, a visit to St. Catherine's Monastery, and a night climb up Mount Sinai. The programs vary considerably in length, format, and physical demands.
Excursions to Cairo and the Pyramids
Bus excursions to Cairo let you choose a program with the classic Egyptian Museum or the New Grand Egyptian Museum. Both routes include the Giza Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, a Russian-speaking guide, and lunch. Departure is planned for around 00:30, with return at approximately 01:00 the next day.
The trip requires a passport with a full Egyptian visa. The drive takes up a significant part of the program and depends on the tourist convoy's movement, checkpoints, and traffic conditions.
How the Mount Sinai Excursion Works
Hotel departure is planned for the evening. After the drive to the foot of the mountain, the night climb begins with a local guide. The main path is about 7 km long, and on the final stretch participants must climb approximately 750 stone steps.
At the summit, the group watches the sunrise, then descends to St. Catherine's Monastery. Visiting the monastery depends on its schedule, religious services, and current rules. The total approximate trip length is about 17 hours.
How to Choose a Historical Excursion
Cairo suits those who want to see the main monuments of Ancient Egypt and are ready for a long bus ride. Mount Sinai requires good physical fitness, since the program involves a long night climb and descent.
Before any trip, prepare your passport, insurance, water, a snack, and warm clothing for the night drive. For the mountain route, closed shoes with a non-slip sole are also needed.
What to Check Before Booking
Confirm the departure date, exact transfer time, age restrictions, and the list of required documents. The duration, route, and return time may change due to weather, the organized convoy's movement, tourist police requirements, and the monastery's schedule.
Lunch is included in the Cairo programs and the monastery trip, but drinks are usually paid separately. Camel rides, blanket rental, paid restrooms, and other additional services along the route are paid separately, directly to local vendors.
How to Book a Historical Excursion
Choose a program and tell the manager the date, hotel name, and the number of adults and children with their ages. We'll check availability, the current price, the transfer time, and the required documents.
